Have you ever had those weeks where you WISH that time would speed by? When winter drags on and you are looking for any hint of spring. Or you have something that you are dreading coming up, and you just wish that you could be on the other side of it, done & forgotten?
That's me lately. Sometimes I beg for time to fly by. Like numbers on a clock fast forwarding or that image of the calendar days falling off the pad, settling motionless on the floor. Sometimes I want to close my eyes & hibernate for this whole year. Make it go away and be a distant foggy memory.
But then again... I would miss my baby taking her first steps. I would miss the fleeing moments of Chase wanting me to cuddle w/him at bedtime & Izzy getting teary-eyed when I leave her. I would miss ice cream dates, the Magic Tree House series and "special time," a coveted treasure that the kids beg me for any chance they get. And though those sayings you often hear can be cheesy ("Don't wait for the storm to pass, learn to dance in the rain." or "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away," etc. etc.), they are true.
So here are our recent moments, our dances through the rain, that I would not miss for the world...
One of our many ice cream dates
Our newest phase, listening to Adele nonstop. You should here us in the car... even Chase sings. (Here we are watching her concert DVD)
Gabriella sort of taking her first steps. She stands up, rotates, then falls. But technically there is a little step in there as she rotates. Counts??
Craft time. Gabriella insists on being included. Izzy is not always happy about it.
Girls saying goodbye to big brother.
They LOVE this dog. (My mom's) Not sure how the dog feels about it though...
Ok, I absolutely ADORE this thing Gabi does. This is her asking for "bup" (which means up), with her sweet innocent face and hands turned up. You can NOT say no to this face.
And yes, I realize that most of my photos are blurry. Tait got me this awesome new 50mm lens that doesn't have autofocus and I am TERRIBLE at focusing apparently. SO frustrating.
LOL I just noticed that my kids are wearing the same outfit in most of these pictures... which were NOT taken all in the same day... Apparently living in your pajamas is a learned trait.

Awesome attitude. It's those dancing in the rain moments, that actually make the time go by faster.
I love those quotes! It's something we all need to remember. This is going to be such a unique year for your whole family, and one that will bring you all closer. Your kids will look back and cherish all the special mommy time from this year.
I LOVE the picture of Gabi on the pup! I think maybe you guys should adopt a pooch this year... :)
