For all of you who have been waiting and waiting for this momentous day, wondering what those first syllables would be out of that little mouth (perhaps I was the only one in suspense.), wait no longer: "bay-bee." Yep, there you have it. Baby. After all of the attempted brain washing ("say mama. want some candy? say it. mam-ma."), and other close-encounter 1st words (we would here something that sounded like "book," "stuck," or "blankie," but then look back to see her looking like an innocent babbler.) She has been doing a few 'baby signs' for a while, and mostly she screeches, grunts, or points if she wants something. I actually think she has been able to say these words for months, but just hasn't felt the neccessity or desire to rapture us as she did today. She can probably say sentences, but only does it behind our backs. What a smooth talker she is.
2ND WORD:
"Sock." She just came up to me, sat in my lap, handed me a sock, and said it. "ock. ock."
Why do I have the feeling that she will soon be expressing her views on politics, global warming, and the exact temperature of her milk bottle? (Nov. 20, '08)
3RD WORD:
"Mamma." Yay! I left the room (apparently without her permission) and she came hollering after me, scooting down the hallway saying, "Mamma. MAMM-MA!" So cute... & a little demanding too. (Nov. 21, "08)
4th WORD: "stuck"
